A North American coach, a European journey and 25 years of hockey in Italy!

This documentary explores the evolution of ice hockey in Italy from 1922-1996, the pinnacle of Italian Ice Hockey. Brad, a former North American professional Player/Coach/GM lived and worked in Italy-Switzerland-UK for three decades. The film offers a practical and authentic perspective on how the sport developed outside its traditional markets, especially with the impact of Import players and coaches collaborating with the Italians.  From local rinks to international competition, the film highlights the challenges Italian hockey faced and the people who contributed to its growth. The sheer quality of players including NHL Stars Ron Chipperfield, Jari Kurri, and Jaromir Jagr along with Italy's biggest star: Lucio Topatigh. 

Brad’s role as both coach and insider provides a rare viewpoint, combining technical knowledge with cultural understanding. Drawing on his Italian heritage and professional background, Brad connects North American and European hockey systems, revealing how discipline, structure, and long-term commitment shaped the game in Italy.  While residing in Italy, Brad set out to write and produce this documentary with a clear purpose: to bring friends, family, and sports fans into the world of hockey in the land of La Dolce Vita. His story unfolds alongside the story of the sport itself, highlighting moments of struggle, growth, and pride that mirror the broader journey of Italian hockey. This documentary offers timely context and insight into a hockey culture that continues to evolve, built over 25 years of work on and off the ice.
